Ashok Govindaraju on July 14, 2008 – 8:18 amInformation has gone wireless. You are able to surf your internet wirelessly. That is, data is being transferred wirelessly across a pre-determined area. Rhapsody gets friendly with iPod to compete with iTunes
Written by
Ashok Govindaraju on June 30, 2008 – 8:38 am
We all know about Rhapsody’s Online Music Streaming Service. We also saw how unpopular it was with iPod/MP3 Player Users. After all what is the use of “listen to songs” service which ties you up with a desktop or a laptop with online streaming. It seems that the guys at Rhapsody are finally correcting their mistakes releasing a spanking new update which will let users download music from its software onto iPods much like what the iTunes does. They are even planning a 50 Million ad campaign to assault their competitors. Whatever Rhapsody does, I’m sure Apple has the might to withstand it and pull out an even better marketing attempt which will highlight the strong points of the competitor but in the end bring it crashing down. Why do I have this feeling?

Google’s New Favicon
Written by

What’s up with Google these days? Why did they have to change an age-old favicon that was easily identifiable… I hate this new favicon. Its amateurish…

MT9 Music 2.0 Format threatens MP3’s Dominance
Written by
Ashok Govindaraju on May 27, 2008 – 11:13 am
MP3 Audio Format has a new competitor - MT9 from Audizen, Korea. This time, it might actually be a very strong contender to usurp MP3’s dominance in the global audio listeners market. I went through Audizen’s Site with interest and if things are to be believed, mt9 takes music and lets you listen to only the portions that you want. That would do wonders for the karaoke market as well, which has been languishing in the sidelines since it came out.

Bling your Mobile Phone with Zedge and Mobile9
Written by
Ashok Govindaraju on May 27, 2008 – 10:35 amMobile Customizations are increasing by the day. I still remember the days when I had to pay real money to get a ringtone delivered to my mobile through a carrier. With the advent of bluetooth in computing devices and mobile phones, all you need to do is download a ringtone, send it via bluetooth from the laptop or PC to your mobile phones.

Internet would run out of addresses in 3 years
Written by
Ashok Govindaraju on May 26, 2008 – 7:18 pmYes, I am serious. The Internet Explosion has had such a huge impact on mankind that the internet has started running out of IP addresses. Technically, IPV4 Addresses are the most commonly used Internet Protocol Addresses in use now. OECD’s latest report reveals that only 16% of available IP Addresses have remained unassigned or unused so far. By conservative estimates, we would run out that 16% in 2011. A new accepted standard called the IPV6 has also been developed. Logically, when we run out of IPv4 IP Addresses, we should have no problem adapting to the IPv6 Addresses right? Wrong!!
